Lance Blake
R.A, A.I.A, LEED AP President
As the son of founding partner Edward Blake, Lance Blake absorbed the virtues of great design and creative solutions at a very early age. Lance joined the firm in 1984 and within a few years became Director of Design. Proving himself in that capacity led to his promotion as President and Managing Principal. His philosophies of principal oversight and direct involvement in each project from inception earned him a reputation beyond reproach in the industry. He is responsible for a wide variety of projects including corporate, institutional, cultural, education, medical and master planned development.
Considered a ‘developer’s architect,’ Lance displays comprehensive knowledge and sensitivity to real estate developers’ needs and concerns. His work is widely known throughout the real estate community as innovative and forward thinking, in addition to practical, thoughtful, intelligent and flexible. Mindful of changing conditions throughout a building’s life cycle, Lance creates designs that have been and will always be highly adaptive to those conditions.
Over the course of his career, Lance has designed and directed more than 100,000,000 square feet of base building core and shell, interior design and renovation / adaptive reuse projects. He and his firm have received numerous design and business industry awards for innovative design and the economic impact on communities.
“The size of the firm often surprises people. Considered small in comparison to the size of the projects we handle, the quality of work is exemplary, and we operate on the same playing field as larger firms. The difference, of course, is our personal involvement and commitment to building long-term relationships.” – Lance Blake
